W.RE brings cultural edge to St Pancras Campus with the world’s first Museum of Youth Culture, deepening Camden’s creative legacy
London-based real estate developer W.RE has announced that the world’s first Museum of Youth Culture will open its permanent home at St Pancras Campus in Camden, bringing a bold cultural dimension to one of London’s most forward-thinking developments.
The 6,500 sq ft museum space will celebrate over a century of British youth culture through immersive exhibitions, community programming, and creative engagement. Its arrival marks a significant cultural investment in the heart of Camden and reflects W.RE’s belief that sustainable urban development must be rooted in cultural identity and community relevance.
Inside the museum, visitors will find a radical national collection that captures the spirit and evolution of British youth. The space will feature three gallery areas: two rotating galleries showcasing highlights from the permanent archive, and a dedicated free gallery for emerging young creatives. Expect everything from punk zines and rave flyers to dub sound systems, school leavers’ shirts, and iconic photography—everyday artefacts that tell extraordinary stories. A café, a record store, and a packed programme of exhibitions, talks, and workshops will make the museum a vibrant, ever-evolving cultural hub.
The museum continues its long-standing relationship with iconic British brand Fred Perry, as well as working closely with organisations such as Native Instruments and Plugin Boutique, giving museum visitors the opportunity to try out world-class music making tools from synths to virtual instruments.
The Museum joins a growing list of tenants at St Pancras Campus, including Super Group, which established its new London hub at the development and moved in earlier this month. The presence of both global and grassroots organisations reflects W.RE’s commitment to creating a diverse and dynamic ecosystem at the heart of Camden.
Jon Swinstead, Founder of the Museum of Youth Culture, said:
“Camden has been synonymous with music and youth culture for decades, making it the natural home for the Museum. Thanks to W.RE’s vision for St Pancras Campus, we have found the perfect home to bring youth culture into the spotlight. We’re creating a space for stories that have often been overlooked but are essential to understanding who we are. Youth culture drives innovation, challenges norms, and creates communities - it’s one of the most powerful forces in society. That’s why it matters. And that’s why we want everyone to be part of it. This isn’t just our museum—it’s yours.”
Sascha Lewin, CEO of W.RE, said:
“At W.RE, we believe that truly sustainable places are not just measured by their environmental credentials, but by their ability to reflect and support the communities they serve. The Museum of Youth Culture brings a vital cultural heartbeat to St Pancras Campus—one that honours the past, energises the present, and inspires the future. We are proud to support a space that gives voice to generations of creativity, rebellion, and change.”
